Dad was born on 17th april 1948 and was older brother to roy. Together with their parents they enjoyed
many holidays around the coast of the uk.

Dad has always been interested in music and video's, He used to tell stories
that in his youth, he and his friends used to acquire records from the shop (without paying)
and go back to his friends house and listen to them as loud as they could.
naughty naughty

His first job was at Tesco's where he worked as a butcher, he and his friends
listened to the radio guessing what song was playing, who sang it and what record
label it was on.( I suppose he then went out and bought it). He then went on to become a manager there.
He left Tesco's to work for The Burton Group, this is where he met our mum Lynne.
they fell in love and was married at st Phillips church on 16th Aug 1969.
a year after they married they was expecting there first child. Dad was proud a son they named Michael.
They lived in a house in Florence street but was not happy there
they decided to move to brander drive and that’s when they had karon there daughter.
dad flew down the stairs with pride and joy. A son now a daughter he was over the moon
Dad decided to be a bus driver, and this was to be his last working role that lasted 30+ years.
This is where he met Carl, His best friend

There sad times started from 1972 as Lynne suffered the loss of 2 babies through miscarriage.
then life started to get back to norm after a while and mum had Richard then Damien their family was complete.
after a while they decided they needed a bigger house and choose to move into seaforth place.
A many a happy times they had there.

Together they built a large collection of cd's (which dad said would never replace records).
Whilst dad liked listening to ACDC and Status Quo, mum liked Tchaikovsky 1810 overture. And west end musicals
Their music could always be heard as we came around the corner
of the street as we came home from school, They loved playing their music loud.

They then moved AGAIN to coldcotes avenue. There they become father in law to Gordon and
grandparents to Brandon Jason and Courtney. they loved there grandchildren so much

Dad found himself in bad times as in July 1998 he lost his mum. Then if that was not hard
to bear he suffered yet another shocking blow on 8th December where
his wife was suddenly taken from him. This was something that he
never really got over. Dad tried to get on with his life, but without mum this was difficult.

Sometime after, dad met Linda. She helped him come out of his shell out of the hole he'd sunken into, he started to be
happier. He enjoyed his time with Linda, they has a nice little holiday to Scotland
and he loved it. He said "I liked the scenery, but the whisky was better".
The relationship was not to be, but they remained friends.
In 2002 his father passed away, but he was determined not to let himself sink into
the same state he got to when he lost his mum and wife.

We talked dad into moving to be with family and friends. He often went on a little walk round the corner
sometimes to steph and Gordon's. But everytime he opened their gate he always cut his hand.
and we never found what he cut it on.
they would say to him are you having a cuppa and he would reply no am going home to open the bar

He enjoyed relaxing in his own home after he finished his shift at work, watching
a movie or listening to his music and having a pint and a tot.
And on a weekend he watched his Formula One, Schumacher was his first
favourite, but was replaced by Lewis Hamilton, which he sadly he did not see him win
his first F1 Championship.
His video collection was to be replaced by DVD's (again something he said
would never be popular). As people closest to him know, he amassed a collection
of over 3000 dvd's.

Dad enjoyed his holidays to Benidorm, although, months before he'd say "I'm not going, I don’t like
flying". But after a whisky on the morning of the flight, he was eager to get there.
I think this was just to go see sticky Vicky.
Dad was faced with Phil the clown and ended up getting custard pied in the face for not smiling.
never did he not smile again.
He was in his element on holiday, he was always the first one up and about,
He enjoyed his long walks on a morning, and always got the paper on his way back.
He'd stick all of our towels on the sun loungers and put them all in a corner safe
for when we decided to get up.

Dad was happy right up till to the last minute and we should remember him that way.
he would say to you all go get a drink the bar is open get drunk and be happy life is too short.

Dad finally got his wish of makin us listen to war of the worlds at his funeral. How he would be have been laughing at us. Thanks dad for that.

Our dad was a great father, father in law, grandad and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all.

We will all miss you dad. Rest in peace with mum

missing you soooo much dad

Dad, our sadness knows no end
We can’t believe you’re gone
We’re grieving for you every day
It’s hard to carry on.

You were always there to support and care
When we needed a true friend
How do we go on without you dad
will our hearts ever mend

We’re trying to communicate
We hope that you can hear
Expressing what we feel for you
Helps us feel you’re near

Our memories of the times we had
May sometimes help the pain
A longing to see your smiling face
Only on pictures its not the same

A part of us went with you
A year ago today
We love you dad we always will
Theirs nothing more to say

Your happy I know with mum in heaven
Love and miss you always dad

A year ago you left us, and not a second, minute, hour of every day we dont think about you and miss you. It doesn't get any easier. We miss your phone calls during tea time telling us about the new dvd you'd bought but couldn't understand it because it was in a foreign language, or that you'd done something daft like falling up the stairs (again)!.
We miss you playing your music loudly whenever we came to see you. We miss having a cuppa with you (well, we had the cuppas while you had ur beer and whisky chaser).
We miss u all the time, dad and the kids miss their grandad. We miss EVERYTHING about you.
Missed and loved every day,
Gone but NEVER forgotten.
All our love, always.

ON YOUR RUBY ANNIVERSARY

We never know
Or fully realize
How sweet and kind our parents are,
How gentle and how wise

We simply take for granted,
From day to passing day,
Each sacrifice they make for us
In their own loving way.

But then we grow and finally learn,
The way that children do,
How much their love has really meant,
How thoughtful they've been, too -

And so this comes with all the thanks
You both deserve and more.
For there aren't two dearer parents
Who these words are for.

Both are now in heavens gardens
Continuing with their love
For we all wish you both was here
To party like we should

Happy 40th Anniversary mum and dad
